Our Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Practice
In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceeding, you enter into a reorganization plan with your creditors, agreeing to repay your debts over a 3 to 5 year period. In exchange, your creditors are prohibited by law from using any means outside of the bankruptcy proceeding to attempt to collect the debt.
We will handle all matters related to your Chapter 13 filing, preparing and submitting all the paperwork to complete the process and acting as your representative in all hearings or proceedings related to the bankruptcy. We will help you prepare and submit a plan for the reorganization of your debt and will act as your advocate in all meetings or dealings with creditors. We will also review any proposed repayment plans from your creditors to make certain they are within your means. If you fail to keep the agreements you make as a part of your reorganization of debt, you can lose the protections of the bankruptcy law.
We have helped hundreds of people just like you get a fresh start!
A Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing can be an effective tool to help you stop foreclosure and save your home. When you file, an automatic stay immediately goes into effect, prohibiting further legal action. This can often buy you the time you need to catch up on your mortgage or successfully modify or restructure your loan.
